Protocol

We publish no telephone number.

If Auriga flies you, you have it. There is no press page, no brochure and no livery — the paint is white, the registration is small, and the flight plans read like anyone else’s. Since 1994 the operation has grown from one aircraft to three, and the number has never appeared in print.

What follows is the whole of the public record.

  1. The introduction

    Made in writing by an existing principal. We decline more than we accept, and a declined introduction is never mentioned again — to anyone.

  2. The answer

    Every introduction is answered within one day, in writing. Once terms are set, wheels-up follows within twelve hours of any request.

  3. The exception

    Auriga does not fly to airports that require it to be seen. Some cities we serve from a quieter field an hour away; the car is part of the flight.

Auriga stands highest at dusk in the northern winter. The fleet keeps the constellation’s names and little else that could be recognised.

Eleven crew in all. The captains of Menkalinan have flown together for eleven years; the steward knows how you take your coffee by the second flight. Nobody wears a name badge, because you already know their names.

The board keeps the sectors we fly most. Each time is set against the sky it belongs to — depart under one light, arrive under another. Everything else is flown on request.

Dinner over the ocean, and the same three faces.

The cabin is wool, saddle leather and walnut, lit by its own small lamps once the horizon goes. Dinner is cooked aboard and served when you ask for it, not when the galley is ready. The bed is made while you eat.

Tomás has kept Capella’s cabin for nine years. He will not introduce himself twice.
